Figure and ground 

Proximity, the state or relationship of being close to each other.I chose to execute this gestalt principle with the use of letters U and A.Since I wanted a pattern to repeat, I created a design where two U’s upon their serif are stuck together and are placed in a vertical fashion.I had a similar idea with the A, however I placed it between the spaces to create more of a contrast while also demonstrating proximity.Despite this principle being quite simple, their is still a high chance of fault or not presenting the idea as some people might mistake it for others.

Similarity, the state or relationship where all have can a resemblance to each other but one or more will still have a distinct difference.I chose to execute this gestalt principle with the use of letters W,V and X.All of these letters have a similar stroke or serif, to take advantage of this detail I place two towers of V and W being upside down.To an human eye, the V’s create a appearance of a Long X.In order to complete to the term, I Placed a tower of X and W in the middle which have a similar aspect to the other towers as it just has “shorter X”.

Closure, the illusion of seeing an incomplete stimulus as a whole.I chose to execute this gestalt principle with the use of letters S,O,I and |.I wanted to develop a sphere like design, so I added a S into the eye of the O, and then I place a I horizontally in the middle of the eye.I created three and placed it one on the one and two on each corner on order to present an idea of a triangle.Since it was hard to figure out the shape still I placed a upside triangle with the use of | which helped strengthen the idea of closure as the outline of the “invisible” triangle is passing through the visible one.

Continuation, when something is continuous through direction or pattern.I chose to execute this gestalt principle with the use of letters e,o and I.I connected two e’s and two o’s together to create a design that will follow a constant direction.The direction that it underwent was a zig zag motion and to develop a more advanced aspect I made go through the letter I.With the letter I,I created a bar effect.Therefore when the design goes through the bar it makes it seem it goes under.Despite it going under the I, it still follows the zig zag motion.Thus, demonstrating the concept of Continuation.

Figure and ground, Figure is the object you perceive, the ground is everything in the background.I chose to execute this gestalt principle with the use of letters V,) and I.In order to differentiate negative and positive space,I created a design that is similar to a heart figure.Within the heart it creates a equal symmetrical sides.The heart figure is being closed within it self and can be viewed as an echo or distant/smaller hearts.Similar to a hallway.In addition when being introduced to this concept or principle, it was quite difficult to understand.However I understood it after being demonstrated how different figures figures can be showed considering negative and positive space.
